Shahjibazar Power Company, a listed power producer, has recommended a 40% cash dividend for FY26, doubling its payout from 20% a year earlier, as its consolidated net profit surged 138.5% year-on-year.

The dividend recommendation and annual financial statements were approved at a board meeting held today (26 October), according to a stock exchange disclosure.

The company reported a consolidated net profit of Tk112.71 crore for FY26, up from Tk47.26 crore in FY25. Consolidated earnings per share (EPS) rose to Tk6.04 from Tk2.53 over the same period.

Its standalone EPS increased to Tk4.82 from Tk3.09, driven by higher plant capacity utilisation, which rose to 76.97% from 62.50% a year earlier, according to the disclosure.

Higher power dispatch helped boost revenue by 23.62%, while lower financial expenses also supported earnings growth.

The company's subsidiary, Petromax Refinery Limited, also contributed to consolidated earnings after returning to profitability, with revenue increasing by 37.44%, the disclosure said.

Consolidated cash flow per share rose to Tk7.33, reflecting improved recovery of receivables from the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and a sharp increase in operating cash flow.

Net asset value per share increased to Tk43.29 as of 30 June 2026, from Tk39.25 a year earlier.

The company's annual general meeting (AGM) is scheduled for 31 January 2027 and will be held digitally. The record date for determining eligible shareholders has been set for 29 November 2026.
